Walking in Tea Plantations with Full of Aroma of the First Tea of the Season

The banks of the Oi-gawa River - JR Kanaya station~Shimada City Ochanosato Tea Museum~Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport. 11.5 km in total.

Held in the Fuji/Fujinomiya area and around the main venue, this special program could be enjoyed only during the Spring Festival. Participants took a stroll while enjoying the view and aroma of light-green fields full of the season's first tea. In addition to many tea plantations, the Fuji and Fujinomiya area contains Mt. Fuji, which was soon to be registered as a World Cultural Heritage site. Many people enjoyed viewing tea growing areas and tasting the season's first tea.

Participants enjoyed programs that they could experience in tea growing areas
only in the spring. Programs included experiences at beautiful green tea
plantations, tasting of tea cuisine and a tea factory tour.

Additionally, the following four tours were conducted: JR Central Sawayaka Walking, Walking in the Mt. Fuji, Shizuoka Airport and Makinohara Area, “Shizuoka: the tea capital” Experience Tour for Fujinokuni Exchange Student Goodwill Ambassadors and Foreign Press Tour.
