Autumn Festival Programs
The 7th World O-CHA(Tea) Festival disseminates attractions of tea including displaying of tea related products, programs to enjoy teas in the world, proposing a brand-new Japanese tea café style and space, sharing cultural and science academic research achievements such as functionality of tea. This event is basically admission free. However, participation cost is required dependent on the each programs.

Access to the venue
Shizuoka Convention & Arts Center “GRANSHIP” (2-3-1 Higashi-Shizuoka, Suruga-ku, Shizuoka-shi, Shizuoka)
From Tokyo
Approx. 1 hour by Tokaido Shinkansen (Hikari) from Tokyo to Shizuoka Station.
Transfer to the Tokaido Main Line at JR Shizuoka station, and it’s about a 3-minute ride to Higashi-Shizuoka station. Then about a 3-minute walk from Higashi-Shizuoka station.
From Osaka

Tea Tasting Festival

Content:Sampling and sales of branded teas produced by the skillful tea farmers, and voting to your favorite tea.

World Green Tea Contest 2019

Place:Entrance Hall of Middle Hall-Earth on 1st floor
Content: Display of the awarded tea products in World Green Tea Contest 2019. It’s a competitive exhibition to propose innovative products that point to the future of green tea.
Japanese Tea Serving Style Competition
Date:November 7 on Thursday to November 10 on Sunday
Place:Reception Hall on 6th floor
Content:Japanese Tea Serving Style Competition winners operate temporary tea café where people wish to drop by and having a cup of Japanese tea.
Display of “Kisha-Dobin” & “Chanoki-Ningyou”

Place:Reception Hall on 6th floor
Content:Display of antique earthen teapots, vessels sold to train passengers to drink tea and wooden dolls of women wearing tea picking costume carved out of a tea tree. The seminar featured “Kisha-Dobin” is scheduled to be held in the afternoon on Saturday and Sunday. And the seminar featured “Chanoki-Ningyou” is also scheduled to be held in the afternoon on Thursday and Sunday.
Street Tea Café Experience in the World

Content:Duplication of street tea café in the seven countries, and it gives opportunities to come in touch with a foreign tea consuming culture through touching local tea utensils.
World Tea Party

Content:Domestic & foreign tea specialists hold a tea party to learn and enjoy global tea consuming customs and the way of tea.
Exhibition of Instagram Photo Contest

Content:The theme of the contest is “A picture shows having fun of tea”. Display of entered and awarded photos in the contest.
Tea Tradition Shown in the World of Kyogen Play

Content:Kyogen play with a 700-year history illustrates tea which has been loved by the people since ancient times.

Content:Passing on the current Japanese tea across the country and generations! The documentary film which illustrates the world of ongoing Japanese tea will be shown twice on the day from 11:00AM and 2:00PM with English subtitles. Only 2:00PM is available on Nov.9.
